Boston janitors strike for wages
Militant/Sarah Ullman

Some 1,200 janitors in the Boston area went on strike October 1 for higher wages, more full-time jobs, and better health benefits. The janitors, who are members of Local 254 of the Service Employees International Union, have won broad support for their fight. Above, workers march through downtown Boston September 4.
