An international consortium announced June 28 that France would be the site of the worlds first nuclear fusion reactor. A day earlier Washington announced plans to resume plutonium production, stalled since the 1980s. These steps reflect the accelerating push by finance capital for expanding use of nuclear energy, while imperialist powers obstruct its development in the semicolonial world. More next week.
