Desestiman ‘con prejuicio’ demanda hostigatoria
de patrones del carbón en Utah

El 6 de julio de 2006, el juez federal Dee Benson en Salt Lake City firmó una orden que desestimó “con prejuicio” una demanda judicial vengativa de la C.W. Mining contra el sindicato minero UMWA, 16 mineros —quienes ayudaron a dirigir una lucha por casi tres años para ser representados por el UMWA en la mina Co-Op en Utah— y el Militante. “Con prejuicio” significa que la compañía no puede volver a entablar su pleito.

“A nombre del Militante, quiero agradecer a los miles de trabajadores y otras personas, incluidos muchos sindicalistas, que ayudaron a ganar una importante victoria para los derechos obreros. Es una victoria para la clase trabajadora”, dijo Argiris Malapanis, director del Militante, en un artículo de primera plana en la edición del 7 de agosto de 2006 titulado “Derrota de demanda de patrones del carbón en Utah es logro para trabajadores”. El Fondo de Lucha del Militante (P.O.
