135 Cuban doctors in Indonesia aid quake victims

In another act of solidarity, the Cuban government has sent 135 doctors to Java, Indonesia, to provide medical assistance to the tens of thousands injured from the earthquake that struck that country May 27. Nearly 6,000 people have died and more than 600,000 have been left homeless. In this terrible situation, the Indonesian people can count on the support of the Cuban government and the Cuban people, stated Cuban foreign minister Felipe Pérez Roque in a message to Indonesias president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
