Changes in Quebec
The article in the July 27 Militant, headlined “Music in English played 1st time at Quebecois day,” gives the impression that the two English-language bands that for the first time performed at an event related to the Quebec National holiday did so at the main event June 24 attended by 250,000 people. The controversy actually took place around a concert that took place June 23 attended by several thousand people.

At the main celebration June 24 the master of ceremonies not only spoke words of welcome in English but also in Spanish, Arabic, Vietnamese, and a number of other languages.
