Mothers Of Plaza De Mayo Tour U.S.
Hebe de Bonafini, president of the Mothers of the Plaza
de Mayo of Argentina, and Sergio Schoklender, a lawyer for
the organization, are on a tour of New York, San Francisco,
and Los Angeles to speak about human rights abuses in
Argentina. The group is also "opposed to the militarization
of the U.S. government," and joined others in protesting
William Clinton's visit to Argentina last month, Bonafini
told reporters at a November 11 news conference in New York.
While there, the activists joined a rally to support
strikinAg workers in the Dominican Republic and spoke at
Boriqua College and Casa de las Américas.
