EDINBURGH, ScotlandStriking workers at Glasgow day care centers and their supporters protested outside the Scottish parliament here November 9. Since mid-October, 267 members of the trade union Unison have been on strike. We are facing pay cuts of at least £3,000 [US$6,100] a year and Glasgow City Council are refusing to negotiate, striker Collette Hall told the Militant. The workers operate 12 centers for around 900 adults and children with learning difficulties. The City Council plans to cut the number of centers to five.
