A celebration of the life and political contributions of Eva Chertov, a longtime member and then supporter of the Socialist Workers Party, will take place in New York City August 28. Chertov died August 7 at the age of 69 after a long battle with cancer.

The meeting will take place at St. Mark’s Church in the Bowery, Parish Hall, 131 E. 10th St., at Second Avenue. It begins with a reception at 2:30 p.m., followed by a program at 3:00 p.m.
