Tim Craine, a longtime member and supporter of the Socialist Workers Party for five decades, died of leukemia Sept. 25 in Hartford, Connecticut, at the age of 77. He was the party’s candidate for governor of Michigan in 1982 and until shortly before his death a leader of the Greater Hartford Coalition on Cuba, which organizes activities in opposition to Washington’s economic war on Cuba. A meeting will be held in Albany, New York, to celebrate his life and political contributions on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m., location to be announced.
