The response of our readers is wonderful! The total continues to climb in the Militant’s special “stimulus” fund appeal, with the total so far at $75,603 from 172 of our readers. All of the contributions come from the one-time “stimulus” checks from the government.

“I am so happy to be sending this donation,” Cecelia Moriarity wrote from Seattle along with her $600 check, “to help make sure nothing stands in the way of the Militant’s unparalleled coverage of the working class.”

The appeal is aimed at assuring the paper has the funds on hand to respond to developments in the class struggle, like the refinery workers’ fight against the Marathon Petroleum lockout in Minnesota, the union organizing drive by Amazon warehouse workers in Alabama, and the actions of hundreds of thousands in the streets against the military coup in Myanmar.

The Militant features the actions and statements of the slate of Socialist Workers Party candidates across the country as they mobilize support and solidarity with all the fights by working people. Our goal is to make a difference in whether these fights win or not, and to help draw the lessons from them to build a fighting vanguard in the overall struggle of the working class against the capitalist ruling families.
