In a serious threat to basic constitutional rights of free speech and assembly, and as a direct expression of Jew-hatred, the Colorado Palestine Coalition is calling on its supporters to disrupt the Nov. 30 to Dec. 3 Jewish National Fund USA conference in Denver.

More than 2,000 people — including high school and college students along with Israelis impacted by Hamas’ Oct. 7 slaughter of Jews — are expected to attend the four-day conference at the Colorado Convention Center.

The Jewish National Fund’s main focus is the construction of housing, parks, water development and other projects to encourage immigration of Jews fleeing antisemitism to Israel. It also works with Bedouin Arab organizations in the Negev.

More than 100 apologists for Hamas disrupted the Nov. 27 meeting of the Denver City Council, demanding that it denounce the conference. After the protesters refused to step down from the microphone when the public comment time was over, the council president adjourned the meeting.

The coalition and its supporters have turned a blind eye to the immorality of the Hamas Oct. 7 pogrom in Israel that sought to kill as many Jews as possible. Instead, they falsely charge that Israel is responsible for genocide and is an apartheid state. Above, a Nov. 5 march by the group.

The group is openly calling to shut down the conference, planning multiple actions every day. The threat this poses to those attending the conference is clear. It is also a threat to the labor movement.

Sam Goldberg, president of the Jewish National Fund in the Mountain States, told the Denver Post he expected that there will be “reasonable and thoughtful critiques of Israel” at the conference, but anyone who calls for Israel’s destruction would be “unwelcome.”
