There is no peace! For Israel’s decisive defeat of Hamas!

October 27, 2025

There is no “peace” in Gaza today, nor did Washington ever mean for there to be. The goal of the U.S. imperialist rulers is a “Pax Americana,” to impose their political, economic and military domination over the region — drawing on the collaboration of the capitalist regimes there, including Tehran — in order to plunder its resources and exploit its labor power.

The administration of Donald Trump sees Israel’s determination to defeat and disarm Hamas as an obstacle. When told Hamas forces were reorganizing and murdering political opponents in Gaza, he brushed it off, saying they were just helping reestablish order: “We gave them approval for a period of time.”

The Socialist Workers Party stands with the Palestinian people against Nazi-inspired Hamas’ repression and killings. Whoever Hamas targets today, its goal is to prevent any advance of the class struggle, which would draw together Arabs, Jews and other fighters. This would be the greatest danger to Hamas’ long-term objectives — maintaining power, the destruction of Israel and a new Holocaust.

The defense of Israel as a refuge for Jews is central to the fight against Jew-hatred today. It’s a dividing line in world politics and a front-line battle for the working class and oppressed peoples everywhere.

What is unfolding is intensifying pressure on Israel from all imperialist powers, encouraged by Hamas supporters among the “woke” middle-class left worldwide.

All the governments intervening in the conflict — including Turkey, the U.K., France, Russia and China — are maneuvering to advance the interests of their own rulers.

Working people of all nationalities in the region — Palestinians, Jews, Kurds, Druze and others — share common class interests. Through the class struggle, workers forge ties and it becomes possible to advance different national aspirations and overcome the capitalist rulers’ attempts to set us against each other.

In the course of class-struggle experience, workers will be won to building parties capable of leading the working class to take political power into our own hands, free ourselves from capitalist exploitation and end all national oppression, including the poison of Jew-hatred.

Jew-hatred and pogroms are a permanent feature of the imperialist epoch. But they are not eternal. Ending Jew-hatred is possible by eliminating its source — capitalist rule — and replacing it with workers power.

The imperialist epoch is also the epoch of wars bred by the competing capitalists’ drive for profit at the expense of all others. Today they are marching toward a third world war in a world of nuclear-equipped powers.

But this is also an epoch of revolutions, as the working class has expanded across the globe. We will have our chance, in the Middle East, the U.S. and worldwide, to take power and alter the course of history.

To be part of that struggle, you should join the Socialist Workers Party.
