While the 2025 elections are over, the eight-week campaign of the Socialist Workers Party to introduce the party to working people and expand the readership of the Militant and books by SWP and other revolutionary leaders continues through Nov. 18. Members of the SWP and Communist Leagues in Australia, Canada and the U.K. look to go over the goals of selling 1,300 Militant subscriptions and 1,300 books by then.
The central activity of the campaign is fielding door-to-door teams in workers’ districts. SWP campaigners explain how building an independent working-class movement capable of taking political power from the capitalist warmongers is directly opposed to supporting “socialist” candidates running as Democrats, who have disdain for working people, promote Jew-hatred and propose to tweak capitalism with reforms.
SWP and CL members are building solidarity with union battles, joining fights opposing attacks on immigrant workers and backing other working-class struggles, all of which are vital to strengthen the unity and fighting power of our class.
The Militant, which has been coming out for almost a century, gives reports on labor battles and other social struggles you won’t find anywhere else. It explains from a working-class perspective the explosive world developments that impact our class internationally — from Washington’s increasing drumbeat of war in the Caribbean to Moscow’s relentless war on Ukraine’s sovereignty and to Israel’s war to conclusively defeat Hamas with its threat of another Holocaust against Jews.

A substitute teacher, originally from Togo, got a subscription and Women’s Liberation and the African Freedom Struggle by Thomas Sankara from campaigners in Fort Worth, Texas. He had known Sankara, the leader of the 1983-87 Burkina Faso Revolution.
Contribute to Party-Building Fund
“We’re getting a strong response to the Socialist Workers Party-Building Fund,” SWP leader Joel Britton told the Militant. “When we present the party’s program in working-class neighborhoods, we find people who not only want to read the Militant and books by revolutionary leaders, but who also want to contribute.”
The SWP is funded entirely by workers’ contributions.
“One worker we met, a UPS driver in the Teamsters, said he’d seen TV coverage of Hamas’ public executions of their political opponents. He gave us a $50 bill,” Britton said. “We met a Latin American immigrant worker who gave $45.”
