NEW YORK — Dave Prince, a central leader of the Socialist Workers Party and a member of its National Committee since 1977, died here Jan. 25 after a long struggle with cancer. He was 82 years old.

Prince joined the Young Socialist Alliance and the SWP in 1965 in Cleveland. Over the years he took on a broad range of leadership responsibilities for the SWP and the international communist movement.
