Cuba and Chernobyl

The documentary Cuba and Chernobyl (“Chernóbil en nosotros”) was produced in Cuba and broadcast on national television in 2006. It tells the story of the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe in Ukraine and Cuba’s exemplary internationalist medical program that treated more than 25,000 Ukrainian, Bylorussian and Russian victims at the Pediatric Hospital in Tarará, on the outskirts of Havana.

A team of volunteers organized by the Militant translated the original Spanish sound track, prepared subtitles and embedded them in the video. The documentary, with Spanish audio and English subtitles, can be seen by clicking the link below.
