CINCINNATI — Workers at the Mars Kellanova plant here, members of Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Local 57, are organizing solidarity with UFCW Local 7 meatpackers locked in a contract fight with JBS in Greeley, Colorado.
Local 57 is currently in negotiations with Mars Inc., which recently bought the plant from Kellanova. The union bargaining committee took a break from negotiations April 3 to send a video message to the Colorado strikers.
“Hi union brothers and sisters. We are BCTGM Local 57 in Cincinnati Mars Kellanova site,” Local President Sonya Munday said. “We know you’re fighting. Stay union strong and we support you!”
